About  Mrs. Annapurna Murthy

 Mrs. Annapurna Murthy is a Masters in Psychology and Education. Practicing as a career counselor for over 35 years, she pioneered the first seminar in career guidance when career guidance and counseling was not well known. Started her career as counselor at RV group of Institutions. Was a guest faculty at the Department of Psychology, Bangalore University, Bangalore. While at Pune, worked as a career counselor at Symbiosis Institutions. Was with the News Paper in Education (NIE) program for over 10 years at Pune and Bangalore. Was with Times of India, Education Times since inception. Wrote articles on career, offbeat career options and was regularly answering queries by students under the Counselor Column in Education Times, Bangalore. (till January 2010 for 12 yrs) 

 

                                      She has Counseled over 5 lakh students in Bangalore alone. Conducted career                                                    guidance programs at Bangalore, Bellary, Udupi, Mangalore, and Hyderabad, amongst                                        others. Conducted career options seminars for pre-university and degree students.                                                Niche area of Counseling, students with hemophilia, bipolar disorders and other special                                        needs on career options for them.



Has given career guidance programs on Bangalore Doordarshan, “Hello Geleyare” being the most popular. Programme on “OFF BEAT CAREER OPTIONS”, on  KASTURI    channel, to motivate students who have no formal education, if they have something special, they can still have a successful career. Programs on other channels, TV9, Raj News,ZEE Kannada etc.

Has written Career guidance articles in Kannada in ‘Udayavani’ and ‘Priyanka’ magazines. Presently her articles under Shikshana Puravani in Prajavani is taking care of several confusions among students.

“Lunch Box” Program on AIR , She has guided many students for several career opportunities that suits them.

She has guided students at the EXIDE camp in 2003 organized by IBM

To guide students scientifically, she conducts Aptitude, Intelligence, Personality, Interest and Study habits tests for students of Class 10 and pre-university students.

Have given talks on opportunities after graduation in India and abroad in several colleges.

She has brought out Karnataka Educational Directory I  for Times Group  in May 2008 and Karnataka Educational Directory II,  in April 2009

She started own consultancy firm MANASA CONSULTANTS – A complete solution to all educational matters.

She is the  Founder and trustee of  “MANASA TRUST” Registered in August 2007, the trust helps economically backward students get educated.

 Her main aim is to guide the average and the below average students, to courses that suits them.
